This talk really resonated with me as I’m sure it does with many. I think this comment on Amazon expresses my opinion better than my own words (at least until I’ve digested this more):
This is a modern political pamphlet of the ilk of Thomas Paine. Powered by laser-sharp logic and the carefully developed metaphor of Lesterland, the land where a tiny number of ‘Lesters’ control the true levers of power, Lessig accomplishes the following: - makes you angry, really angry, that the system is as broken as it is - unveils an extremely convincing case for how we might try to fix it - and somehow at the end persuades you that it might even happen. His argument is carefully constructed to appeal to both left and right. The whole book can be devoured in a couple of hours, but will resonate for weeks or months. It deserves wide attention.
This talk is also in eBook and aBook forms. Check out Lessig’s blog entry for more info.
